Agree with others that capture Keita’s time at Liverpool. I do also wonder how well he fit the system too- he usually played as part of a 2 in Germany if I remember correctly. Being a left-sided 8 didn’t seem to suit his skillset as well but maybe that’s more about the League and player than the system. Think it’s best to redeploy resources elsewhere
I think we are just have to take the hit and let him leave. For him and for liverpool. It's all come to a natural end. We need to free up the wages, squad position and get younger legs in midfield and he needs a fresh start in a less demanding league than the premiership.
To sensible supporters, after what this squad has achieved over the last 5 or 6 years, no one who was a part of it leaves without being remembered fondly... but we all (probably incl. Keita himself) just hoped for more from his time at liverpool
Mine is one of disappointment. I just wanted to see him play - at full fitness.
He could play and offered the team something different in an opponent's half.
Only thing, apart from him being injury-prone, was his lack of pace - though he is by no means alone in that limitation. Apart from that enjoyed what I saw. Wish we had seen more.
Perfectly sums up his LFC career to date, his he still young enough to come through this and still shine, will we ever know?, I personally think he will be gone when we start afresh next season with a new look midfield. Great article Neil.
Great article really well written. Sums it up to a tee.
I think there's a player in there, but Keita needs to play elsewhere

Cut him loose. Totally useless as a player, an incorrigible flop wasting valuable investment money. It is what it is. Let him go pronto.

Good read.

Great article. I'm one of those who shrug their shoulders, say ‘good riddance’ and look to the future! He didn't play a big enough part to be missed.
